Profoundly Gifted Parenting

The Ins and Outs of Parenting and Educating a Profoundly Gifted Child

Profoundly Gifted Children

Where you told you have a profoundly gifted child? Maybe you stumbled upon this site because you just started down your Google journey after your son or daughter was diagnosed as Profoundly Gifted. I remember hitting the internet right after the test scores came back to try to figure out what it all meant. It was so overwhelming! Perhaps you have been on this journey for a while. Or maybe you’re just curious about what profoundly gifted means for a child and their family. Whichever reason you are here, welcome! I’m glad you are here!

Profoundly Gifted Parenting Blog

I started Profoundly Gifted Parenting because when we started on our journey, I felt alone. Often, it’s taboo to talk about a gifted child. Have you noticed the stone-cold silence when you post a “mom brag” on your Facebook page about something awesome about your child? It’s ok to post about sports and dance but what about awesome academic achievements or early milestones? You need to find a tribe. It can be reassuring to hear some been there done that stories. And it’s essential to find a safe place. I’ll be sharing some personal experiences and a lot of resources. I hope you will be able to relate, laugh, cry, and ride along on this adventure together. Let me be a part of your tribe. Lets learn how to navigate this journey together!

Grab a cup of coffee and stay awhile. As Elliott would say, “greetings and salutations”!

Advent #24: A couple days last. The final advent Advent #24:

A couple days last. The final advent was celebrating Christmas Eve. Elliott got a very special gift from G&G and we had too much wonderful food.

Advent activities were super challenging this year. Typically we would be out doing a bunch of fun activities in the wild. This year a few were duplicated (movies and game nights), and we are all going a bit stir crazy in isolation. But there are so positives too. Lots of quality time together! I can’t wait to be out of Covid and isolation. But I’ll take with me the memories of being together.

We’re facing some challenges this next year but hopefully the good will outweigh the bad.

Advent #23: Go sledding. We finally got snow in M Advent #23:

Go sledding. We finally got snow in MN and we were excited for sledding but it’s a for real blizzard of ice shards that cut your face, 50 mph wind, and cold. So we were kinda dumb and tried to go anyway. Mistake. And oh yeah, Elliotts snow pants that were supposed to last this year are at least 2 sizes too small so he had to wear mine. I think we will find a nice Christmas movie and snuggle up!
